Fearless Fourteen is the fourteenth book in the Stephanie Plum series by American author, Janet Evanovich. In this instalment, while trying to find the people who have kidnapped Loretta Rizzi, Stephanie babysits a teenage online gamer named Zook who may or may not be Morelli’s son; she acts as security for an ageing star with a stalker; she participates in a reality bounty hunting TV show; she discovers dead bodies (two); she makes a bad bathroom decision whilst on a stake-out; and she brings in only one skip. There are explosions, spray painting, holes dug, jack-hammers used, a potato gun, a prophecy on pizza is fulfilled, Morelli employs some unlikely protection and Lola plans a wedding. There is far too small a dose of Ranger, but Lula’s maxims (“It’s a Saturday. You can borrow these things on a Saturday.” and “And anyway, everyone knows you don’t gain weight on Sunday.”) are priceless. There are a few laugh-out-loud moments and this is a fun read.
