Sandra McDonald's debut novel The Outback Stars should reach a broad swathe of readers from hard science fiction fans to romance readers and manage to please them all. More
Down Under but NotGo, Aussies. The book jacket blurbs got me on this one, but I purchased it via book club (as I did the sequel when it was available). A space opera with a delightful "Aussie" feel to it was enjoyable, refreshing, and kept my attention. The situation of the main character (who in the end is NOT Jodenny Scott!) is ageless (Time Travel), but the means, method, and results that McDonald employs in this story are so much fun! I've already read the sequel and await purchase of the 3rd story soon!
