As we begin a new year on the Book Case, here's a run-through of the posts from last year that really caught readers' attention.

5. Monday contest: Summer reading giveaway: Our Monday contests are always a popular draw, but the prize package of 5 books chosen by the editors of BookPage proved to be the biggest one of the year, with more than 600 entrants and nearly 5,000 pageviews.

4. Cave men + potty humor=Captain Underpants: The popularity of Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants series, and the dirty minds of Google searchers, sent visits to this post soaring.

3. The Top 10 Books of 2010—so far: Readers love top 10 lists, and this one, drawn from the most popular books published in 2010 as judged by BookPage.com visits was especially popular. A few of the books made it all the way through to our Best Books of 2010 list.

2. Laura Hillenbrand returns with 'Unbroken': Readers everywhere were looking for news about Hillenbrand's latest, which we posted in May.

1. The oddest book title: This post about the winner of the UK's Diagram Prize for Oddest Book Title of the Year tickled the funnybones of our friends the Fug Girls, introducing more than 16,000 readers to The Book Case.
