I interviewed the very smart Nalini Singh back in June, and Jill Shalvis' newest book, Animal Attraction, is sure to be one of the best romance novels of the fall (just take a look at that cover!). In other words: Karen has picked a great list of favorites. Based on what she likes, I think she should turn to:
When You Dare by Lori Foster is about the relationship between a sexy alpha hero and a very determined heroine. In it, security expert Dare saves Molly—an author of romantic suspense novels—from human traffickers. If you're looking for explosive sexual chemistry on the page, look no further than Foster.
If you want something on the paranormal side of the romance genre, try Water Bound by Christine Freehan, an imaginative tale about a beautiful sea urchin diver who saves a drowning man. The pair fall in love, but there's more drama here than mere sexual tension. Turns out the two have strange powers, and they're followed by terrifying danger.
To appeal to your taste of Toni Blake's big-hearted contemporary novels, we recommend Susan Wiggs. If you're longing for the days of summer, try Lakeside Cottage (recently re-issued from MIRA), about a single mom who loses her job then journeys to her family's cottage—son in tow—to figure out what's next. There, she falls for a mystery man. You'll fall for the characters' growing attraction as well as the summery setting.
