Let's be honest. Sometimes book trailers can get a little blah. But hands-down, the best ones always feature whatever odd point of view the author has (i.e. trailers for Gary Shteyngart's Super Sad True Love Story, as seen here and here).

Which is why I love these three trailers for Shalom Auslander's Hope: A Tragedy. It's an absurdist comedy wherein Anne Frank did not die at Auschwitz and is living in Solomon Kugel's New York attic. Read our review for more.

And so, Auslander got me all excited about his dark, hilarious novel with these three trailers in a series called The Attic Calls, in which Auslander calls his friends (Ira Glass, Sarah Vowell and John Hodgman) to ask if they will hide him during any future holocausts:

Hope: A Tragedy comes out this Thursday, January 12. Will you read it?
