Saddle up, Western fans: Larry McMurtry has a new adventure headed your way in June 2014. The Last Kind Words Saloon is a novel starring real-life gunslingers Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, whose friendship is nearly as legendary as their exploits.
The 77-year-old author and bookstore owner, who's best known for epics like Lonesome Dove, hasn't published a novel since 2009's Rhino Ranch; he's been focusing on his memoirs and an epic biography of Custer. The Last Kind Words will be his first novel with Liveright, an imprint of W.W. Norton. Looking forward to this one?
